Hearing Aid Ear Booster Loud — Privacy Policy

What this app collects, why it collects it, and what you can ask us to delete.

Effective 9 September 2026. This policy explains what Hearing Aid Ear Booster Loud ("the app"), published by Gowalk Inc., does with information on iPhone and Android.

Summary

  • The app has no accounts and never asks for your name, e-mail address or phone number.
  • Microphone audio is amplified, filtered and captioned on your device. The app does not record, store or upload audio.
  • Two optional AI features send text (never audio) to our server for a short summary: the words of a caption session and the tone thresholds of a hearing test. That text is not stored by us after the answer is returned.
  • You can delete the server-side data tied to your installation at any time from Settings.

Microphone and live sound

Live amplification, presets, noise reduction, voice focus, the level meter and relief sounds run entirely on your device using the microphone and your headphones. Audio is processed in memory and discarded immediately. The app never writes audio to disk and never sends audio to Gowalk.

Live captions and speech recognition

Live captions use the speech recognition service built into your device's operating system (Apple Speech on iOS, the Android speech recognizer on Android). Depending on your device, language and settings, that service may process audio on Apple's or Google's servers under their privacy terms. Caption text stays on your device for the current session; the app keeps the most recent AI recap locally so you can read it again.

AI recap and AI hearing report

When you tap "AI recap" after a caption session, the caption text (at most 8,000 characters) is sent to our server. When you request an AI report after a hearing test, the tested frequencies and your left/right hearing thresholds in dB HL are sent. Our server forwards that text to an AI model provider (OpenRouter, routing to OpenAI GPT-5 mini or, as a fallback, Google Gemini 2.5 Flash) and returns a structured summary. We do not store the caption text, thresholds or the generated summary on our server; the provider processes them to produce the answer. Requests are rate-limited per installation and covered by a monthly budget, so the feature may be temporarily unavailable; the app then shows a locally generated summary instead.

To authenticate these requests without an account, the app signs in anonymously with Firebase Authentication and creates a random installation key on your device. Our server keeps, per installation: the anonymous Firebase user ID, the installation's public key, creation and last-seen timestamps, a usage record per AI request (operation name, time, outcome, model name and token counts) and short-lived request nonces (kept for 15 minutes to prevent replay). None of these identify you personally.

Reporting AI content

If you report an AI summary as wrong or inappropriate, the reported text and your optional reason are stored on our server so we can review it and improve the prompts. Reports are tied to your installation ID, not to any personal identity.

Deleting your data

Settings → AI data → "Delete my AI data" deletes the installation record, its usage records, content reports and nonces from our server and creates a tombstone so the same installation ID can never be reused. Local data (hearing test history, presets, settings and the last recap) is deleted when you uninstall the app; you can also clear test history from the Test screen.

Hearing test results

Test results (thresholds per ear and frequency, the resulting classification and the report) are stored only on your device. They are sent to our server only when you explicitly request an AI report, as described above. The test is a screening aid, not a medical examination.

Analytics and crash reports

The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to count screen views, feature use and crashes. This data includes device model, operating system version, app version, country derived from the request and a random installation identifier. It does not include audio, caption text or hearing test results. Google processes this data under the Firebase terms.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. The app reads your purchase status from the store to unlock features and never receives your payment details. Restore purchases uses the same store account.

Permissions

  • Microphone: required for amplification, captions and the level meter.
  • Speech recognition (iOS): required for live captions.
  • Notifications (Android foreground service): keeps amplification running while the screen is locked.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Security and transfer

Traffic between the app and our server uses HTTPS, and every request is signed with the installation key and verified with Firebase App Check. Our server is operated by Gowalk Inc.; the AI model providers may process requests in other countries.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when the app's data handling changes. Questions: use the support page linked from the app's store listing.
